NJ CHERRY HILL — Planning Board voted 8-1 to approve Subaru dealership relocation to Route 70 West. Chair Sam Kates moved approval of the site plan, which relocates Subaru's operations from Marlton Pike to a 13.92-acre former corporate headquarters. The application received bulk variances for reduced open space (16.5 percent versus 25 percent required) and excessive parking, plus a 24-foot pylon sign approval with a commitment to lower it if field testing allows.
Sixteen conditions of approval include preservation of five Route 70 trees, no illumination of the "Subaru Love Promise" sign, and car carrier access restricted to Park Boulevard only. Member Marlyn Kalitan voted against, citing car carrier and sign height concerns.
